Discussing the Pirates’ anticipated payroll, while parsing comments that aren’t all that encouraging to leery fans.

I’m expressing frustration with how the Pirates organization has handled the introduction of catchers Endy Rodriguez and Henry Davis to Major League Baseball. However, I consider the competition between Rodriguez and Davis a potentially beneficial situation.

I mean, imagine if your kids came to you with a list of Chirstmas presents they want and they were also armed with the lists of all their friends lists too. The kid doesn’t care how you get them obviously.

I look at the roster and I see a team that probably has to spend a bit more than they’re comfortable spending to add what they likely need to add in order to reach the playoffs in 2023.

It’s always something right? The Pirates trade a bunch of players we like for kids and after a while we get over it, start even getting excited about some of those same kids and poof, you’re telling me we’re now going to trade THEM

This Oviedo situation got me thinking about where to go from here. Check it out, thinking through it will at least help understand why this is so impactful.
